This is a simple Unix based decoder for the WGL Designs W800RF32. http://www.wgldesigns.com/w800.html

I love this receiver. It is lightning fast and has no configuration to mess with. Plug it in, decode the data stream and it just works. As a bonus, it is really simple to decode.

This code is sort-of based on the protocol doc on the WGL page. Except that I've used the order of the characters that the device uploads directly. This means that all the bits are reversed and the two half-words are reversed compared to the docs. Oh well, too bad! :-)

I wrote this for FreeBSD. It seems to compile on Linux, but I have not tried running it. Please let me know if it works, or what needs fixing if not.

I have the program configured to run a shell script for each and every received X10 signal. I've included the files in the examples/ subdirectory. They are not likely to be useful to you but may give you some ideas.

Defaults for command args: -t: timelimit = 2 seconds -d: device = /dev/ttyd5 -l: logfile = /usr/local/x10/w800rf32.log -p: pidfile = /var/run/w800rf32.pid -c: cmd = /usr/local/x10/x10rf.sh

The time limit requires explanation. When I use an X10 4 button 'credit card' keychain remote, pressing a button causes a 1.5 second burst of repeat traffic. My hack is to ignore the repeats within the window. If a different code arrives, it will still be responded to. If you only have quick bursts on your transmitters, you can always reduce the time limit to 1 second. Or increase it if you have lots more X10 RF repeaters than I have.

The command is run with two args, eg: "/usr/local/x10/x10rf.sh B5 ON" You can then do whatever you wish. I have a couple of lines cut from my machine as an example.

I have a text file that maps X10 -> Insteon for ON/OFF commands. The shell script also maps a couple of X10 commands as triggers for things like UPB devices and one of my 2-step vertical blind automated openers. They send Insteon and UPB commands using other software I have written but have not yet polished up for release. Sorry. Soon, I promise!
